"When we heal our own trauma, individually and collectively, we don't just heal our bodies. By refusing to pass on the trauma we inherited, we help heal the world."

—Resmaa Menakem

I welcome all populations, however, I focus on providing compassionate and effective therapy for BIPOC individual adults who are facing various challenges such as trauma, anxiety, grief and loss, lack of creativity, and a lack of acceptance of all their intersectional identities.

Sessions are often process-oriented and clients should be willing to invest the time required to explore themselves fully.

An Approach to Therapy That Works

I believe in assisting my clients in grounding themselves and finding personal resources, both internal and external, to support their healing journey. Through my therapeutic methods, I help clients explore their sensations, images, behavior, affect, and the meaning behind their experiences from the past, present, and future. By doing so, I facilitate the process of moving through fight, flight, freeze, and fawn responses.

I also focus on identifying triggers and empowering clients to proactively address them. My goal is to help individuals establish healthy limits and boundaries, as well as develop techniques to release, recover, and become more resilient from traumatic experiences. I encourage the integration of cultural and creative elements within the therapeutic process, such as food, music, dance, art, symbols, stories, games, and language of origin.

Holistic Treatment Methods

My therapeutic approaches draw from a range of modalities to best meet your needs:

  • Strength-Based Therapy: I focus on identifying and utilizing your personal strengths and experiences to support your growth and healing.

  • Psychodynamic Therapy: By exploring childhood experiences and their impact on your present life, I help you bring the unconscious to consciousness and release tension.

  • Somatic Experiencing® (SE): This approach incorporates body awareness to aid in releasing stress, shock, and trauma. SE promotes recovery and resilience by addressing patterns of fight, flight, or freeze.
